If you'd like to become a dance teacher, or wish to gain professional degree certification as a dance educator or judge, contact Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Fellow and Examiner Phillip Stephens via firstname.lastname@example.org. The ISTD was founded in London, England, in 1904 and encompasses a wide range of dance styles. In the more than 100 years of its existence, the ISTD has become known as the World's Leading Dance Examinations Board.
After 29 years of owning and operating Houston's largest Ballroom, Latin, Country-Western and "Club" dance studio, Phillip Stephens and Michael Schedler sold The Dance Place to Guoyong Zhang and his wife, Huan Huan She. Phillip and Michael will continue teaching in the beautiful facilities they built and nourished over the years, but feel that it is time they move forward into another phase of their dance careers.
Dancing With The Stars
In its 21st season, ABC's hit program "Dancing With The Stars" pairs celebrities from a variety of fields with ballroom dance professionals. The mix of age ranges, backgrounds and personalities creates a highly entertaining contest among the celebs and their pro partners as they perform various routines in cha cha, rumba, waltz, tango, jazz, Waltz, Foxtrot, contemporary and other dances.
The judges' scores and critiques of the performances often add elements of surprise and dissappointment for the couples. The celebs and pros then petition for viewer votes to avoid the dreaded red spotlight used to highlight the couples who are in jeopardy. Finally, one celebrity is sent packing as his or her skills found to be lacking.
Those left sigh in relief before comiserating
with the celeb going home. Naturally, every
remaining celeb vows to work
even harder on their upcoming routine to make sure that they
won't be the next celeb to be sent packing.
